Diestelhorst Bridge Preservation and Rehabilitation

Built in 1914, the Diestelhorst Bridge is a 639-feet, five-span, pedestrian concrete arch bridge over the Sacramento River. The scope of work included removal and replacement of the deck overlay, the bridge rail system, the pier caps, bridge lighting and modification of the existing utilities on the bridge. Miscellaneous areas of deteriorated concrete on the bridge arches were removed and replaced.

All work performed was subject to conditions imposed by the National Historic Preservation Act, State Office of Historic Preservation, Caltrans and the City of Redding.

CALTROP provided complete construction management services prior, during and after construction, including resident engineering, materials testing and inspection.
