Halls Gulch Bridge Replacement

This original bridge replaced Halls Gulch Creek and was adjacent to the East Fork of the Trinity River. It consisted of an old railroad car style bridge sitting on earth abutments supported by multi-plate culverts. The previous bridge was within the 50-year flood plain and experienced water overtopping the bridge several times.

The old bridge was demolished and a detour bridge was constructed to accommodate the public traffic during construction of the new bridge. In addition to construction of a new bridge, the project also placed almost 3,500 cubic yards of Rock Slope Protection along Halls Gulch Creek and the East Fork of the Trinity River, and included revegetation of riparian habitat. The new bridge is complete and opened to the public in 2013.

CALTROP provided construction management services for the replacement of Halls Gulch Bridge in Trinity County on East Fork Road.
