Regional Transportation Plan / Sustainable Communities Strategy

As the Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG) prepares to develop the 2016–2040 Regional Transportation Plan / Sustainable Communities Strategy, the agency has engaged The Sierra Group, along with CALTROP Communications as its subconsultant, to provide outreach and media  services to ensure that the public and interested parties are given early, meaningful and substantive opportunities to be involved in SCAG’s decision-making.

In partnership with The Sierra Group, CALTROP Communications is working with outreach team of professionals in a six county area to help SCAG implement the 2014 Public Participation Plan. CALTROP Communications is responsible for the development and implementation of a comprehensive outreach plan to identify, target and educate particular environmental justice groups and hard to reach, underrepresented audiences, stakeholders and policy makers throughout the 34 cities in Orange County.

This outreach and media campaign includes public workshops, hearings, stakeholder meetings, canvassing, community events, ethnic media relations (Spanish and Asian) and social media.
